Our Approach
We believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy, treating the whole person and not just their symptoms. We use evidence-based techniques and work collaboratively with our clients to help them achieve their goals.
Do your past experiences haunt you? Do you feel irritable and don’t fully understand why? Have you had singular traumas that get triggered in different situation? Maybe by talking about certain topics or certain places or people? Or, maybe it’s a smell or a certain food or a type of location. Does your history contain repeated insults to your soul? Or, have you experienced repeated insults to your sense of self, repeated stresses or traumas that somehow erode how you feel about yourself and maybe about others?
It's time to find balance in an environment of warmth, acceptance, and compassion.

What does all this mean for you? It means that Dr. Lenard has the expertise to integrate different modalities of therapy to fit what works for YOU. She will work WITH you, checking in every step of the way to ensure that her approach still works for you so that you can more efficiently meet your goals.
What should I expect in therapy?
Upon first contact, Dr. Lenard will invite you for a brief free consultation to determine goodness of fit. If it seems like a good match between client and psychologist, Dr. Lenard will take some basic information to get you into her electronic health records. From there, she will send you an invitation to the patient portal, which is HIPAA-compliant, through which you can access all the paperwork that needs to be filled out before we can begin therapy. This can all be done electronically. If you are using your insurance, it is important for you to also scan and email the front and back of your insurance card so that Dr. Lenard can verify your coverage. This verification is not a guarantee of coverage, and the client will be responsible for the total cost, if you are not covered for mental health services. Dr. Lenard will also need a copy of your driver’s license, which can be emailed to her through the secure client portal. At this point, an appointment can be made.
During the first session, Dr. Lenard will ask you about what rings you into therapy, current symptoms/stressors, relevant history, and expectations/hopes for therapy. We will collaboratively set goals about what to discuss and work toward. This process allows Dr. Lenard to better understand you in your context, which will help the therapeutic process.
