Do I take insurance?
I am an in-network provider for a variety of insurance panels. Insurance clients must be seen either via telehealth or in the Whitefish office. If you prefer to use your insurance, and Dr. Lenard is not in your network, a superbill can be provided upon request, which reflects dates of sessions, diagnosis code, services provided, and payments made. In this circumstance, all fees must be paid at the time of service and the client is responsible for all submissions of the superbill to their insurance company. If Dr. Lenard is in your insurance network, she will submit your claims for you.
What should I expect in therapy?
Upon first contact, Dr. Lenard will invite you for a brief free consultation to determine goodness of fit. If it seems like a good match between client and psychologist, Dr. Lenard will take some basic information to get you into her electronic health records. From there, she will send you an invitation to the patient portal, which is HIPAA-compliant, through which you can access all the paperwork that needs to be filled out before we can begin therapy. This can all be done electronically. If you are using your insurance, it is important for you to also scan and email the front and back of your insurance card so that Dr. Lenard can verify your coverage. This verification is not a guarantee of coverage, and the client will be responsible for the total cost, if you are not covered for mental health services. Dr. Lenard will also need a copy of your driver’s license, which can be emailed to her through the secure client portal. At this point, an appointment can be made.
During the first session, Dr. Lenard will ask you about what rings you into therapy, current symptoms/stressors, relevant history, and expectations/hopes for therapy. We will collaboratively set goals about what to discuss and work toward. This process allows Dr. Lenard to better understand you in your context, which will help the therapeutic process.
What will therapy cost?
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, or any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
